Patterns produced by children at St. Mary's Primary School were inspired by artwork in the town hall and its ceremonial silver.
The Middleton Arts & Crafts group enjoyed learning new creative skills from Alison in the workshops. They enjoyed her activities so much that they didn't want her to leave!
A group of Year 10 photography students from Falinge Park High School participated in a series of photography workshops with the professional photographer, Paul Wolfgang Webster, in Spring 2022.
They took inspiration from some of the imagery that adorns the walls, windows and ceilings inside the town hall. Rochdale-born Paul delivered engaging sessions in the classroom and through two field trips into the centre of Rochdale.
The project introduced students to different photographic techniques and helped to develop relationships between the town hall team and Falinge Park High School.
As a result of the project, students told us that they learnt about new photographic techniques, learnt something about the history of Rochdale Town Hall, felt more confident and resilient in their photography, and enjoyed putting their knowledge into practice.
