This eight-panel artwork was created by artists May Wild Studio in collaboration with seven community groups and schools from across Rochdale: Cared for children (via Rochdale Youth Service), Burnside Community Centre, Caring and Sharing, Hopwood Community Primary School, Hopwood Hall College, Falinge Park High School and Pinc College.
The communities developed stories and artworks inspired by the Town Hall’s art and craft interiors.
Taking their lead from the stories and artworks created by the participants, May Wild Studio worked in both handmade and digital software mediums to create the final eight panel artwork.
The May Wild Studio worked with the communities through a series of creative workshops.
These were focused on connecting to the handmade and handcrafted, and celebrated the storytelling of Rochdale communities past, present and future.
