Early links with Rochdale

The 24th Lancashire Rifle Volunteers (LRV) was formed in Rochdale in 1859 by men from well known local families. This included the Fentons, Fishwicks, and a young Theodore Philippi. His father was Frederick Philippi of Belfield Hall, Rochdale.
